DAS Ltd operate teams of trained and qualified technicians who can deliver rescue cover on an ad-hoc basis for a variety of confined space activities and working at height operations. Thus, providing our clients with the confidence they require in managing a safe system of work in hazardous situations. For each project undertaken we conduct a thorough onsite risk assessment and compile an appropriate method of work statement relevant to the entry and risk category. Safe contractor accreditation has been approved for our operations.
Low Risk Confined Spaces
Where access may require consideration, with adequate natural or mechanical ventilation, continuous gas monitoring and correct isolations in place. No breathing apparatus required for low risk.
Medium Risk Confined Spaces
Where there are access issues; a realistic expectation of encountering a specific risk; possible introduction of specified risks during the work activity. Working without an attached rescue line. Escape Set (Self Rescue) breathing apparatus required to be taken into medium risk.
High Risk Confined Spaces
A high risk confined space exists when there is a specified hazard that cannot be controlled or eliminated. Difficult entry and exit. Wearing of self-contained or line fed full breathing apparatus always in high risk.
For more complex or high risk rescue situations, we can arrange a workplace simulation to demonstrate the emergency arrangements and the methods of rescue to be used prior to any scheduled work scope.
Rescue Team Standby: Steam Boiler entry
Two-man confined space rescue teams are utilised to provide cover for inspection contractors entry to boiler vessels.
An adaptable pre-rigged rope system is installed to assist in safe and swift extraction if required from a medium-risk entry.
The flexibility of our rope hauling systems are ideal to be positioned above difficult exit hatches.
Rescue Team Standby: Pump station control
Two-man confined space rescue teams are utilised to provide cover for contractors in an underground pump housing.
A pre-rigged rope system is installed from a tripod to assist in a safe and swift extraction if required from a low-risk entry.
Rescue Team Standby: Grain Silo
Four-man entry and rescue team was utilised for a cleaning task within a concrete silo vessel.
A pre-rigged rope system is installed with both hauling and lowering capabilities to assist in a safe and swift extraction if required from a high-risk entry using breathing apparatus.
Rescue Team Standby: Dispatch holding silo
Three-man entry and rescue team was utilised for an inspection task within s/steel holding vessels.
A pre-rigged rope system is installed with both hauling and lowering capabilities to assist in a safe and swift extraction if required from a medium-risk entry using RPE.
Rescue Team Standby: Distillery Pot Stills
Two-man confined space rescue teams are utilised to provide cover for contractors in a copper pot still undertaking hot works.
An adaptable pre-rigged rope system was installed on all three pot stills to assist in a safe and swift extraction if required from a medium-risk entry.
The flexibility of our rope hauling systems are ideal to be positioned above difficult exit ways from the pot stills.
Rescue Team Standby: Pump station manhole
Two-man confined space rescue teams are utilised to provide cover for contractors during repair works.
A pre-rigged rope system is installed from a tripod to assist in a safe entry/exit and swift extraction if required from a medium-risk entry.
